Corrie Marks-Banks was the 1st born to the union of Barton Marks and Georgia Steele-Queary. However, she was the 5th child of the Queary-Marks family.
Reviewing the 1900 census, it stated Corrie to be the daughter of Barton and Georgia Marks. She was recorded as 3 years of age birthdate reflected December, 1896.
Corrie married Willie Banks and to this union 5 children were born, Ethel, Warren, Willie Jr., Georgia and Mary Lee Banks.
Corrie was faithful to her church. In her early years, she was a member of the AME Church of Chidester, Arkansas. Later the family moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas where they united with Allen Temple AME Church. In 1942, she was consecrated deaconess. In 1965, the family united with the St. John AME Church, and again she served on the deaconess board.
Because of her radiant personality, she gained many friends from all walks of life. She was a faithful member of The Order of the Eastern Star. She was active in many other civic activities and organizations.
Corrie departed this life March 22, 1980.
