Joe Luther Queary was the 3rd child born to the union of Andrew and Georgia Queary in Nevada County. He was the 3rd child in the union of Barton and Georgia Marks.
Joe was affectionately called "Koon" by those who knew him well. He resided in the Chidester area. Joe married Gurtie Fogle and to this union seven children were born, Beova, James, Mae, Beulah, Joe Jr., Willie, and Georgia.
Joe was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He worked faithfully in his church. Within the community, he was known for his knowledge and willingness to offer assistance to others. Joe worked for the railroad in and around the area. he was known throughout the area for his superior carpentry skills which he utilized in the project of building of the Baptist church in Chidester area.
Joe loved to hunt, fish and trap small game animals. Joe departed this life November, 1965
