Rosie Beulah Marks - Wardlaw







Rosie Beulah Marks-Wardlaw was the 5th born to Barton Marks and Georgia Queary-Marks. However, Beulah was the 9th child of the Queary-Marks family. In the 1910 census, she was listed as being 7 years old with a birthdate of September 29, 1903. Beulah also was also orphaned as a little girl. She said on many occasions said that she was too young to remember her parents when they died. However, she and her brother Dallas Lee Marks were taken by their uncle and aunt. They were Andrew and Mollie Marks-Alexander, whom were residents of the Red Hill Township. She and Dallas later went to live with their older sister and brother-in-law. They were Alice Queary-Marks and Martin Marks. Martin Marks was the nephew of Barton Marks, while Alice Queary was the step-daughter of Barton Marks. Later Beulah and Dallas moved to Fordyce. Beulah married Aaron Wardlaw in 1923 and to this union four children were born. Ruth Helen, Aaron Jr., Lawrence Elmer, and Lenoard. Beulah was a faithful church member and loving person to those who knew her. She often remarked that her prayer was that she as well as her sister and brothers would not die and leave little orphans kids and that all their children could go to school, and learn to read, write and count. Beulah departed this life July 29, 1981
